The Most Valuable Christmas Gift

This Christmas season you and I will experience a magnificent time of the year associated with gifts, decorations, traditions, and celebrations. People will wish you a "Merry Christmas," offer hugs, cookies, hot chocolate and presents. We will dress warmly in bright red and white colors, tour department stores in search of that specific item to share with a loved one. We hear Christmas music on the radio; listen eagerly to carolers. We send cards and wishes to friends and loved ones. I love and cherish all of it! However, the most profound aspect of this holiday isn't that wrapped, hand-selected toy, jewelry piece, clothing article or a thousand other items you gift and receive. A priceless, unimaginably valuable gift is offered freely to you and me, to all humanity: eternal life with God. This unfathomable treasure, one measured beyond a king's ransom, the incomparable Christmas gift purchased for us by Jesus Christ, serves as a reminder of God's love and grace.

Eternal Life

Heaven is not a cloud. Those entering will not float as ethereal whisps of ghostly spiritual puffs. It is a place. You will have a body . . .yours! This Eternal Life is not simply an extension of our earthly existence; rather, it embodies a transformative relationship and presence with God that transcends time. This gift allows you and I to experience profound joy, peace, and purpose. Unlike material gifts that fade, lose value, and become obsolete, the gift of eternal life provides assurance for you, a lasting connection and presence with God Almighty, the Creator, the Alpha and Omega. It invites you and I into a state of reconciliation, allowing us to experience the fullness of life as designed by God.

Receiving the Gift of Eternal Life

To receive this priceless gift, we must understand its significance and embrace it through faith, not good works or being a "good person." Jesus Christ's birth--celebrated as Christmas--prophesied (foretold) multiple times in the Bible spanning hundreds of years, marks the arrival of the Messiah, the Savoir, God in the Flesh to reconcile you and I to Him. His death and resurrection (yes, he was killed--again, as prophesied--then ROSE from THE DEAD, witnessed by hundreds as historical fact!) serve as the ultimate proof of God’s love and the means by which eternal life is granted. There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Accepting this gift requires belief in Christ as Lord and Savior, recognizing that it is through His grace that we are saved, not by our own efforts.

The choice to accept this Christmas gift is deeply personal and transformative. And I urge you to take it. It carries with it the promise of eternal fellowship with God, providing hope in times of difficulty and strength in moments of weakness. Embracing this invitation leads to a life enriched by divine purpose, paving not only your personal path, but for those around us every day.

This Christmas, as we share in the warmth and joy of the holiday season, you and I would do well to remember the invaluable gift that has been offered to us. The promise of eternal life with God is a lasting treasure that remains untainted by the challenges of this world. It is a gift that enriches our lives in immeasurable ways, echoing to, into, and through eternity with Him.
